    Vol. 5 No. 1 (2020)

    The 6th World Conference on Women’s Studies (WCWS 2020) was held on 27-28 July 2020 with the collaboration of  Asian-african Association for Women, Gender and Sexuality (AAAWGS), Tokyo Gakugei University, Japan, Bridgewater State University, USA, Center for Multidisciplinary Research, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences University of Sri Jayewardenepure, Sri Lanka as hosting partners.

    The conference discussed the current global health crisis making a clear spotlight on societies’ many structural inequalities rooted in socio-cultural, political, legal and economic systems, which create inhumane conditions of violence, food, water and hygiene insecurity, and ecological destruction impacting the most vulnerable. The Conference chaired by Prof. Diana Fox  under the theme “Overcoming Women Subordination: Socialization Law, and Structural Changes”.

    The issue contains the papers of WCWS 2020 participants.

    The 8th World Conference on Women’s Studies 2022 (WCWS 2022) was held from 12th – 14th of May in Virtual Platform under the theme “Feminist Futures in Precarious Times: Decoloniality, Boarderlands, and Transformative Visions.” The conference was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka and hosted by the Asian-African Association for Women, Gender, and Sexuality (AAAWGS) with Bridgewater State University, USA and Tokyo Gakugei University, Japan. The conference united diverse researches and case studies from all over the world, in parallel sessions while offering many networking and publishing opportunities.

    The 5th World Conference on Women’s Studies 2019, was held on 25th – 27th April 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand under the theme “Activism, Solidarity and Diversity: Feminist Movements Toward Global Sisterhood.” The conference was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka in collaboration with the Bridgewater State University, USA and Flinders University, Australia and The State University of New York as the Hosting Partners while Kütahya Dumlupınar University, Turkey and Fathima Jinnah Women University, Pakistan remained as the successful, collaborative academic Partners of the Conference.

The co-chairs of the conference were Prof. Diana J. Fox, Prof. Kamala Liyanage and Dr. Sandya Hewamanne.

  • The Proceedings of the 9th World Conference on Women’s Studies 2024

    The 9th World Conference on Women’s Studies 2023 was taken place from the 11th – 12th May 2023 in Thailand. The WCWS 2023 united the diverse scholars, researchers, activists, academics, and policymakers from all over the world, in parallel sessions while offering many networking and publishing opportunities. The purpose of the World Conference on Women’s Studies iwas to offer participants an enriching opportunity to deepen knowledge of global feminisms along with the theoretical, policy, and personal dimensions of Women’s Studies scholar-activism worldwide, engaging with intersecting fields of Gender and Sexuality Studies and the many disciplines that constitute Women’s Studies—all toward building collaborative partnerships, offering publishing opportunities, and enacting visions of a more equitable and liberal world.
