Smoking is a risk factor for various non-communicable diseases such as cancer, cardiovascular and other degenerative diseases. Social jetlag is a circadian rhythm phenomenon that has surfaced in the recent electricity era where social jetlag is a measure of accumulated daily sleep deficits. The impact of jetlag has a bad influence on health and is associated with bad health behavior. Obesity has recently become a global phenomenon, apart from being a risk for various non-communicable diseases, during the COVID-19 pandemic obesity was a determinant of the poor clinical condition of a person who was attacked by the COVID-19 virus. Mental health is also starting to emerge and become a phenomenon that is often found in late adolescents. The transition period of the learning system from online to offline is a phase that demands adaptability for students. Does smoking behavior in this group who experience changes from online to offline learning systems affect social jetlag, changes in body mass index, and mental health. Purpose: evaluate the effect of smoking on social jetlag, changes in body mass index and mental health in adolescents in the transition era of online to offline learning. Methods: a cross-sectional design study evaluating differences in average social jetlag, changes in body mass index, and levels of depression, anxiety and stress (Indonesian version of the DASS-21) between smoking and non- smoker students. Data from respondents were obtained by filling in a Google form which was distributed through social media networks with WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Line platforms. Results: as many as 389 students voluntarily participated in this study. Student smokers have significantly higher body mass index during the pandemic, and lower BMI when offline. Social jetlag, levels of depression, anxiety and stress are increasing. Conclusion: Smoking increases the risk of social jetlag, significant changes in body mass index, and mental health disorders during the online-to-offline transition.</p> 2024-02-28T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2023 YA Romadhon, IN Faizah, NP Futana, A Nabilah http://tiikmpublishing.com/proceedings/index.php/isocmed/article/view/1355 CORRELATION OF EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, AND FAMILY SUPPORT WITH COMPLIANCE PERFORMING ROUTINE CONTROL OF PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DM AT KALIORI HEALTH CENTER 2023-11-24T17:37:55+0530 NS Rohmah nailisyafaaturrohmah@gmail.com A Lahdji nailisyafaaturrohmah@gmail.com C Faizin nailisyafaaturrohmah@gmail.com <p>Diabetes Mellitus sufferers who do not perform with routine control completely will increased the risk of complications and premature death. The proliferative phase is one of four major phases in healing physiology that occurs on days 8 to 11, characterized by epithelial cell contraction leading to the edges merging and the wound size decreased. New treatments for chronic wounds have been developed, including medical plasma. Plasma is an ionized gas. Plasma generates RONS molecules, which can be effective in healing chronic wounds but histological view has not been reported. The aim of this study was to calculate the number of inflammatory cells, blood vessels, fibroblasts, the percentage of re-epithelialization, and the thickness of necrosis of chronic wound tissue in mice skin treated with plasma in the proliferation phase. The sample used tissue slides of mice skin with chronic wounds on the 11th day which had been treated with plasma daily. A total of 18 samples were divided into 4 groups. Control (K) chronic wound tissue without treatment, Contact Plasma (CP) chronic wound tissue with 5mm distance of plasma treatment, Contact-Noncontact Plasma (CP-NCP) chronic wound tissue with combination plasma treatment, days 0-6 distance of 5 mm and days 7-13 distance of 20 mm, Non-contact Plasma (NCP) chronic wound tissue with 20mm distance of plasma treatment. The results showed that the highest mean number of fibroblast cells, blood vessels, and percentage re-epithelialization were found in CP-NCP. The highest number of inflammatory cells was in K and the highest thickness of necrosis 70.5µm was found in CP. The final conclusion, the highest average number of fibroblast cells, blood vessels, and percentage of re-epithelialization was found in CP-NCP group indicated the CP-NCP group had the fastest healing process compared to the others. One of the natural preservatives used is kluwek seeds. Kluwek contains flavonoid compounds that have antibacterial activity. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of kluwek seeds as a natural preservative for squid in terms of protein profiles based on SDS-PAGE. The procedure begins with soaking the squid in kluwek seed suspension with concentrations of 10%, 15%, and 20% and then storing them for 24 hours. Protein content was calculated using the Bradford method and protein profiles were analyzed using the SDS-PAGE method. The molecular weight of protein bands is calculated by application<em> GelAnalyzer</em> 19.1. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the total protein content of squid was highest at a concentration of 20% (17.86 µgµL-1), then the concentration of 15% (17.03 µgµL-1), and the lowest was the concentration of 10% (14.64 µgµL-1). Based on its protein profile, squid soaked with 20% concentration of kluwek seed suspension was the most effective for natural preservatives. Asthma cannot be cured, but it can be controlled to reduce and prevent asthma attacks. According to the World Health Organization, bronchial asthma affected around 262 million people in 2019 and caused 455.000 deaths. This case report describes a 44-year-old man, who came to the emergency room with complaints of shortness of breath and felt intermittent since the last two months and worsen one day before entering the hospital. Shortness of breath accompanied by complaints of coughing, fever, and wheezing. The patient has a history of asthma since he was a teenager. In the past month, asthma symptoms have been felt almost every day, often waking up at night, and there are limitations in doing activities when asthma relapses. Complaints of shortness of breath felt better after taking the fenoterol inhalation drug. On examination of vital signs obtained a temperature of 38.1oC, 95% oxygen saturation, chest auscultation examination found wheezing during expiration. Routine blood laboratory examinations, normal results were obtained, whereas in chest X-rays, increased bronchovascular markings were found, suggesting a picture of bronchitis. The therapy given to the patient was in the form of oxygen nasal cannula 2 liters per minute, omeprazole IV injection 40 mg every 12 hours, ceftriaxone IV injection 2 grams every 24 hours, methylprednisolone IV injection 62.5 mg every 24 hours, acetylcysteine 1 capsule every 8 hours, paracetamol tablets every 8 hours if you have a fever, as well as nebulized Salbutamol – Ipratropium Bromide – Budesonide. During treatment the patient's condition improved. The patient was then allowed to be outpatient and given Formoterol – Budesonide inhalation therapy twice a day, one puff.</p> 2024-02-28T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2023 SA Salsabila , AD Tahitoe http://tiikmpublishing.com/proceedings/index.php/isocmed/article/view/1377 COMPLEXITY OF THE TUBERCULOSIS CHAIN IN EXTENDED FAMILIES WITH COLLECTIVIST CULTURE: A CASE REPORT 2023-11-27T06:57:04+0530 ANR Hariyono ac275@ums.ac.id CT Ardityawati ac275@ums.ac.id EH Kurniawan ac275@ums.ac.id FK Annam ac275@ums.ac.id M Anam ac275@ums.ac.id A Candrasari ac275@ums.ac.id A Setyaningsih ac275@ums.ac.id <p>Indonesia is a country with the second rank of new tuberculosis cases in the world. One of Indonesia cultural that is collectivist culture, which is one of its characteristics, is gathering in a large family (extended family) in one house can pose a risk of spreading infectious diseases such as tuberculosis. The purpose of this report was to analyze tuberculosis cases with family medicine approach. The method used a holistic examination, namely anamnesis, observation and examination using a family medicine approach (genogram, Family APGAR and SCREEM, also home environment). The location took place at Gatak Primary Health Care, Sukoharjo Regency, Province of Central Java, Indonesia in June 2023. The result, we examined a 7-month-old girl and it was found that other family members also had tuberculosis (grandparents had a history of tuberculosis with completed treatment, the patient cousin was being treated at a type A hospital). The patient home environment was usually exposed to cigarette smoke. The patient lived in a house with a family consisting of 4 generations (extended family). APGAR Family showed very functional. SCREEM Family showed that the house was often used as a meeting place for residents and the illness was not shared because it was still a taboo subject. The family was good in formal education and there was health workers in family members, but it was a bad habit that if a family member was sick, the house would be the place to take care of them. The home environment had lack in sanitation hygiene. Conclusion: The management of each patient can be different, to achieve disease eradication we cannot just give therapy without taking a family approach.</p> 2024-02-28T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2023 ANR Hariyono, CT Ardityawati, EH Kurniawan, FK Annam, M Anam, A Candrasari, A Setyaningsih http://tiikmpublishing.com/proceedings/index.php/isocmed/article/view/1378 THE IN-VIVO POTENTIAL OF AVOCADO JUICE (Persea americana Mill) ON CHOLESTEROL LEVELS 2023-11-27T07:03:53+0530 F Nuroini fitrinuroini@unimus.ac.id E Erliana fitrinuroini@unimus.ac.id JT Isworo fitrinuroini@unimus.ac.id <p>An increase in blood cholesterol levels is one of the triggers for atherosclerosis. The use of natural components, such as avocado fruit juice, is an alternative to lowering cholesterol levels. Avocados contain hypolipidemic agents such as beta-sitosterol, omega-9, oleic acid, pantothenic acid (vitamin B5), niacin (vitamin B3), vitamins A, C, and E, cysteine amino acid, selenium, and fruit fiber. The study's goal was to examine the potential effects of providing avocado juice on cholesterol levels. The pretest-posttest design with a control group is used in this type of experimental research. The research sample consisted of 36 male white rats aged 2-3 months which were divided into 3 normal, positive, and negative control groups, and 3 treatment groups with avocado juice doses of 3.5mL, 4mL, and 4.5mL. The research phase involved acclimatization and generation of hypercholesterolemic rats by inducing quail egg yolk orally and assessing the effectiveness of avocado juice orally once a day for 7 days. Cholesterol levels were tested three times: after acclimation, induction by oral quail egg yolk, and administration of avocado juice. After egg yolk induction, the average cholesterol level in all treatment groups was 139.1 mgdL-1, 164.5 mgdL-1, and 190.1 mgdL-1, respectively. Following the administration of avocado juice, there was a decrease in all treatment groups with mean cholesterol levels of P1, P2, and P3, or 68.7 mgdL-1, 64.1 mgdL-1, and 42 mgdL-1. These findings are supported by test results from One Way Anova, which showed that after the administration of avocado juice, there were variations in cholesterol levels between groups. This subject is meant to serve as a reminder and inspiration for everyone in society to get immunized in order to protect themselves, their families, as well as the local community. Immunization coverage increased once more to 94.9% in 2022 after falling to 84% during the COVID-19 epidemic. Although this is excellent, more work must be done to achieve the WHO goals of 99% (Ministry of Health 2023). As a result, a faster immunization program is required, especially in regions with low coverage levels. This study intends to examine the factors that affect immunization coverage, specifically in the Toddopuli Public Health Facility's (Pusat Kesehatan Masyarakat – Puskesmas) region, Makassar. Descriptive analytic methodology is applied by conducting in-depth interviews with informants. Choosing informants with the purposive sampling technique. The important informants are the immunization coordinators at the puskesmas, whereas the major informants are five families with infants or young children who provide vaccinations. According to the findings, the success of the immunization program is significantly influenced by family involvement and the work of immunization officers. Both of these variables are more significant than other factors including parental education level, income, and the distance from the home to immunization services. In order to expand immunization coverage in the upcoming years, it is desired that these two items can be further enhanced in the future.</p> 2024-02-28T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2023 DS Aras, S Faradiana, AA Asmasary, J Ibrahim http://tiikmpublishing.com/proceedings/index.php/isocmed/article/view/1383 THE EFFECT OF PERCEIVED BENEFIT AND PERCEIVED BARRIER ON ACTIVITY OF DAILY LIVING IN NON-HEMORRHAGIC STROKE POST PATIENTS 2023-11-27T07:29:28+0530 AG Dyfani ghinaadyfani15@gmail.com A Lahdji ghinaadyfani15@gmail.com <p>Stroke is one of the leading causes of death and disability worldwide. Stroke is classified into two, namely non-hemorrhagic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke. The incidence of non-hemorrhagic stroke is higher than hemorrhagic stroke. Non-hemorrhagic post-stroke events can lead to functional disability and decreased quality of life which can affect the physical, psychological, and social so as to reduce the quality of life of non-hemorrhagic post-stroke patients. This can be overcome if the patient has perceived benefits and perceived barriers which are aspects of the health belief model. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of perceived benefits and perceived barriers on the activity of daily living in post-stroke non-hemorrhagic patients. This research is quantitative research with a cross-sectional study design. The samples were post-stroke non-hemorrhagic patients undergoing outpatient treatment at the geriatric clinic of KRMT Wongsonegoro Hospital from October-November 2022 who met inclusion and exclusion criteria as many as 80 respondents. The method used to measure the perceived benefit and perceived barrier variables is to use a questionnaire in the form of statements that are measured using an ordinal scale. Meanwhile, to measure the activity of daily living the researchers used the barthel index. Then the researcher tested the hypothesis using Spearman's rank correlation so that the results of the analysis of the perceived benefit variable were obtained (p=0.044) with a correlation coefficient of -0.225 and perceived barrier variables (p=0.865) with a correlation coefficient of -0.019. The prevalence of pelvic fractures due to high-energy injuries is 93.6%. 46.8% of all cases of pelvic fractures required surgery. Displaced sacro-iliac fractures can cause the pelvis to be vertically or rotationally unstable, including Tile's classification of type B or type C. Fractures of the ipsilateral “displaced” sacro-iliac often result in shortening of the involved limb or “Leg Length Discrepancy”. Inadequate and late treatment can cause shortening of the limbs that is difficult or cannot be corrected so that the patient is lame. Open Reduction Internal Fixation of the initial fracture is helpful for correction of “LLD”. Radiological evaluation through antero-posterior projection of the pelvic x-Ray is easy to do with a comparison of "reference points" on the right and left sides, namely: "Greater Sciatic Notch", "Articular Cartilage", "Greater Trochanter Femur", "Superior Lesser Trochanter Femur", “pubic arch”, before and after surgery. In the case of a male, bus attendant, colliding with a truck, was thrown off bus, unable to move his right leg. General condition, and vital sign are stable. One of the most common causes is punching an object with a closed fist during a fight or punching a hard object. As many as 33% of patients with hand fractures are metacarpal fractures, the majority involving the fifth metacarpal. Men dominate the incidence of "boxer fracture". The peak incidence is at the ages of 10-29 years. Conservative management of "boxer fracture" tends to dislocate easily, causing flexion contractures in the finger joints and skin necrosis in the hands. Some researchers suggest surgical treatment because functionally and aesthetically the results look better. In addition, factors such as longitudinal shortening, angulation, malrotation, bone loss and soft tissue injury are indications for internal fixation. The population of boxer fracture patients mostly occurs in males of young age or productive age working with a high economic burden, so that faster recovery of hand activity is ensured. Internal fixation is an option so that the hands immediately function to work. The choice of internal fixation depends on the type and location of the fracture, soft tissue damage, age and occupation. Several internal fixation modalities for boxer's fractures such as percutaneous fixation with Krischner wire, cerclage with suture wire, intermedullary nail, plate screw to arthroplasty. By knowing the implant choice strategy according to the type and location of the fracture, soft tissue damage, age, and occupation, it is hoped that it will provide the best functional and aesthetic results in the treatment of boxer fractures.</p> 2024-02-28T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2023 R Harahap, PA Meisari http://tiikmpublishing.com/proceedings/index.php/isocmed/article/view/1356 MEDIAL MALLEOLUS FRACTURE WITH INFERIOR TIBIAL FIBULA LIGAMENT INJURY: CASE REPORT 2023-11-24T17:38:05+0530 AM Putri rudiharahap2016@gmail.com H Rudiansyah rudiharahap2016@gmail.com <p>The medial malleolus and Distal Inferior Tibia Fibula ligaments are part of the structure that supports the stability of the ankle. So far there is still limited research evaluating how the brain plays a role in supporting cognitive activity listening to music and how it affects health. One method that can evaluate brain activity in listening to music and its effects on health is by measuring electroencephalography quantitatively associated with changes in heart rate. Objective: to subjectively measure mental activity in listening to music through quantitative EEG examination by looking at the size of event related de/re-synchronization (ERD) alpha wave power and its correlation to heart rate variations in real time, in young adult women. Methods: measuring the ERD power of the alpha of the 20 EEG electrodes with variations in heart rate when the subject listens to music. Results: when listening to music there is a decrease in left prefrontal cortex activity (F3 and F7). In general, there is a lateralized pattern of increasing right hemispheric alpha power, and there is a very dominant increase in the right auricular (A2), right temporal (T6) and right occipital (O2) areas. There is no difference in heart rate frequency during basal conditions with listening to music. Conclusion: the subjective experience of listening to music is followed by lateralization of the right hemisphere with a very dominant increase in the auricular, temporal and occipital areas.</p> 2024-02-28T00:00:00+0530 Copyright (c) 2023 Dulmi Udage
